The village of Almerimar is located on the Mediterranean. This region “Costa de Almería” has a very moderate climate all year round. This means very little rain and more hours per annum sunshine than anywhere in Europe. Therefore Almerimar is perfect for a stay in winter as well as in summer. The village has a lot to offer, such as a 27-holes golf course, marina, nature reserve “Punta Entinas-Sabinar”, Mediterranean beaches and it is close to the mountains of the Alpujarras. There are pubs, restaurants and bars in the centre. Towns like “El Ejido” and Resorts like “Roquetas del Mar” are located in the immediate area around Almerimar. Almeria city, with its historic castle, cathedral and its fine shops, can be reached within 30 minutes by car. Granada City, with its historic district and Alhambra Palace, as well as the “Sierra Nevada”, with its winter ski resort, can be reached within 90 minutes and Malaga City in 120 minutes. The only European desert, Tabernas, is within 45 minutes and the nature reserve of “Cabo de Gata” is only an hour away. The airport Almeria (LEI) and “Mini-Hollywood Theme Park” are both only 40 minutes from Almerimar!!!
The village of Almerimar has opened its completely renovated 5 stars Golf Resort Hotel on the 8th of December 2012. The Resort offers beautiful facilities for golfers. The hotel has 100 rooms, restaurant, bar and you walk right onto the golf course. Next to the hotel you find the Golf Clubhouse where the caddy-master is located.
The centre of the village comprises the Spanish marina with the highest boat capacity in Spain. The yachts are tied up practically in the centre next to the numerous bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy a typical Spanish “tapa” accompanied by a sunny day most of the year. Shops, banks with cash machines, pharmacy, supermarket, bakery and townhall offices are all present in the centre.
The nature reserve “Paraje natural Punta Entinas-Sabinar” can be found east of the village bound by the Mediterranean Sea and connecting Almerimar with the resort of “Roquetas de Mar”. This reserve is protected by Spanish and also European Environment laws. The flamingoes are the best known birds but there are a lot of protected smaller species having their habitat at this place. Other nature can be found in the Alpujarras mountains only 30 minutes drive from Almerimar. These mountains are part of a large natural reserve connecting to the “Sierra Nevada” in the Granada province. An hour’s drive away you can visit the famous “Cabo de Gata” reserve with it’s virgin beaches and typical desert like surroundings not far from the only European desert called Tabernas.
“La Ladera del Golf” is located in the small friendly resort of Almerimar, which is busy but never crowded. It has many facilities, but is not over commercialised. This private residence, in which our holiday rentals are situated, is a very well maintained community with a very big communal swimming pool, children’s playground, basketball/paddle courts and many well-manicured gardens. Because it’s just outside the village centre above the golf course it is quieter and the views are spectacular. All the rental properties are South-facing and have big windows giving access to the terraces, which make the livingrooms very bright. Each property is similar but individual.
